AudioTechnical Implementation
I really got my foot in the door with audio when I started handling it from a programming stand point. Or more specifically, delivering it from the computer to the gamer in the chair. I have used a large variety of libraries and engines including FMOD, Wwise, and XNA. Still I can make the basic elements from scratch and avoid that overhead if need be. I have experience with adaptive audio too. A.V. has some elements with positional audio and "Sound To Light", but I have experimented using the Marsyas audio analysis library and other methods to help bring audio to the forefront of the games. Take a look at the Games page for some more, or Contact me for particular questions!
Over the past few years I have been able to come back into the web with my audio work. I have used various libraries including Howler.js and Sound.js, in addition to creating my own in house library in TypeScript. This includes making custom cues and features requested by the sound designer over the years. Asset Creation
I have always loved music and audio in general. Although many are surprised that I never really took up a traditional instrument over the years, the digital realm has become my playground instead. I have been making the bleeps and bloops that most people don't think about unless it is missing in games. Although at times under-appreciated, the sound I make completes the experience. A.V. was a chance to successfully experiment a bit more with audio in games, but even before this I was trying to make audio a more pressing concern.
Recently I have been using Ableton Live 9 and trusty Audacity to produce most of the audio needed, but I have used other Digital Audio Workstations like Logic and Pro Tools as well. I do take lots of samples but I prefer to twist and fiddle with the knobs and synthesize most of my audio from scratch. Each project will have it's own demands of course, but for most of my projects, the digital sound fits excellently. The Sound Cloud widget on this page will give a glimpse into some of the assets I have made, though do not hesitate to Contact me with questions. Wobble Wobble is a lightweight, modular, and configuration driven audio library for the web. It takes advantage of the Web Audio API where it can and will fall back to HTML5 audio tags if need be. This project is still in its infancy. Stay tune to the GitHub for updates!
